Fitted Hose Assemblies

Barbed hose fittings should be fabricated using clamps or crimped ferrules. Western barbed hose fittings are rated to 200 PSIG maximum working pressure; however, this rating is applicable only to fitted hose assemblies fabricated as described and shown in the drawing below. Hose repair kits include the tools needed to fabricate and assemble the fittings on the hose.

Reverse Flow Check Valves

For torch and regulator applications, Western Check Valves guard against danger caused by plugged tips, over pressurizing or incorrect startup procedures. Proper Check Valve installation helps prevent accidents caused by gases mixing in hoses, regulators or cylinders.

Western's Quick Connects provide fast, reliable and positive connections and quick disconnections for torches, hoses and regulators. All models are color-coded for gas service for added safety (oxygen/green, fuel gas/red, inert gas/blue). Oxy/fuel gas models include integral reverse flow Check Valves. Quick Connects fit all B-size welding and cutting equipment.

Western Flashback Arrestors - Oxy/Fuel Gas

Welders rely on Western's advanced Flashback Arrestors to help prevent serious incidents caused by reverse gas flows or flashbacks. Western's Flashback Arrestors are designed to stop flashbacks by preventing ignition of mixed gases and to protect equipment such as hoses, regulators and cylinders.

Flashback Arrestor Bodies and Assemblies are available for special applications. Flashback Arrestor Bodies consist of 1/4" F and 1/4" M NPT connections. Assemblies for Adapters and Pigtails consist of standard CGA connections on both the inlet and outlet sides of a Flashback Arrestor Body. Western also offers assemblies with ball seat check valves for the inlet side of the Flashback Arrestor Body.

Flashback Arrestor Bodies extinguish flashes or flames before they reach the cylinder. Flashback Arrestor Assemblies are designed for installation on acetylene cylinders to prevent flashbacks into the cylinder.

This all purpose propane flame tool operates off of the pressure of a standard propane tank–no regulator required. Appropriate for a wide variety of all–season maintenance/repair applications at commercial offices, factories, institutions, warehouses, parks, residential properties, farms and parking lots.

Adapters connect a regulator to a cylinder or other equipment when different CGA threads on the mating parts make a direct connection impossible.

Adapters must be selected with care to ensure that regulators and other equipment are used only with compatible gases and pressure ratings.

A mixture of non-compatible gases in any system is a possible hazard. Regulators and all other parts of an adapted system must be thoroughly purged of all contaminants, especially organic material and residual gases. Replace worn or damaged fittings immediately to ensure safe and dependable operation.
